No concrete proof of Samuel C. Martin's parents in NC has been found. But strong evidence links him to Valentine Clarkson Martin and Elizabeth Dalton of Surry Co., NC, and thus on up the line to Jobe Martin and Mary Clarkson, to Valentine Martin and Jane Bridgewater, and to Martin Martin and Sarah Hix of New Kent Co. and Goochland Co., VA.
